EXTENSION FOR EXP3

HI ALL, FOLLOWING THE STUDENT REP MEETING YESTERDAY WE HAVE AGREED ON AN EXTENSION FOR EXP3 UNTIL MIDNIGHT FRIDAY JUNE 20TH.

IN PART THIS IS TO AVOID A CLASH FOR OUR ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS ON THE 16TH.

MOVER TUTORIALS FOR UT2004 AND SOME ADVICE

IF YOU WANT YOUR IMPORTED STATIC MESHES (FROM SKETCHUP) TO HAVE MULTIPLE MATERIALS THEN YOU WILL NEED TO BREAK THE SKETCHUP MODEL INTO PARTS THAT REFLECT EACH SEPARATE MATERIAL AND THEN EXPORT AND IMPORT THEM SEPARATELY. ONCE YOU HAVE DONE THIS A FEW TIMES IT DOESN'T TAKE VERY LONG AT ALL. USE THE ATTACHING ACTORS PART OF THE TUTORIALS ABOVE TO ATTACH THE VARIOUS PARTS BACK TOGETHER IF YOU WANT THEM ALL TO MOVE (I.E. YOU WANT YOUR ELEVATOR TO HAVE MULTIPLE MATERIALS).
3. THE IMAGES BELOW SHOW THE STEPS YOU GO THROUGH TO ASSIGN A MATERIAL TO A STATIC MESH IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN TO SELECT ONE BEFORE YOU IMPORTED IT FROM SKETCHUP, OR YOU WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE IT ONCE IN UT2004. STEP 1 SHOWS THE EXPANDED MATERIALS SLOTS ONCE YOU HAVE CLICKED ON THE LITTLE PLUS SIGNS NEXT TO THEM. BEFORE YOU DO STEP 3 SELECT YOUR NEW MATERIAL IN THE TEXTURE BROWSER. THE TEXTURE WONT APPEAR ON THE STATIC MESH UNTIL YOU HAVE UPDATED IT BY CLICKING IN THE 3D WINDOW, STEP 5.
